Chrisean Rock has been sentenced after she was arrested for allegedly assaulting Tamar Braxton's associate last year.
Police waited for Rock, born Chrisean Malone, when she entered a courthouse in San Fernando Valley with her baby in hand last week. Shortly after police apprehended her, the reality TV star was sent to the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood. A rep from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department told TMZ on Monday, June 17, she was arrested over her alleged violent altercation with Tamar Braxton's associate James Wright and was sentenced to 30 days in jail and probation for a year.
For the unfamiliar, Chrisean Rock was invited to Tamar Braxton's tour stop at the Novo club in L.A. back in November. She reportedly got upset because she showed up late and was barred from performing. While backstage, Rock was caught on tape interrupting a prayer circle between Tamar, her sister Toni Braxton, and other close friends, which sparked more ire from Braxton's associates. Moments later, Rock got into an argument with Wright and allegedly struck him in the face. She reportedly broke two teeth and had cuts on his face. He sued Chrisean in February and she was served in May.
Chrisean Rock was arrested on a felony fugitive warrant and an additional charge of assault with a deadly weapon charge. She was held without bail. The warrant stems from charges in Oklahoma that date back to 2022 including possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. She previously acknowledged the warrant on an Instagram Live session back in March, in which she vowed never to turn herself into authorities due to her infant son.
"The old me would've just turned myself and got through to the inside and the outside the jail," she explained at the time. "But right now I have to play cautious because... I don't plan on being in jail while my son is growing, like, I just don't plan on that at all."
After she was arrested, Blueface's mother Karlissa Saffold spoke to TMZ and vouched for her grandson's mother. Despite their past transgressions, she thought the police's surprise arrest wasn't fair and doesn't think she should be in jail.
"That wasn't the time," Saffold said. "She had her kid and she was there supporting my son so I don’t agree with it."
